GOALS: Steps in the right direction

As If you have been following my journey throughout post, you'll see that I am exploring a new skillset I the field of EdTech. My professor asked us to share some of our personal goals. While brainstorming ideas, I noticed my professional goal were aligned with my interested in educational technology and digital tools (personal goals) I’m setting clear goals to grow in areas that matter most to me: AI prompting, digital storytelling, and professional networking. Each goal includes specific action steps and a timeline to help me stay on track and measure my progress. Some of these goal will take a bit more time and strategy. My deadline for completing all these goals is July 31, 2025. One would assume that digital literacy is understanding research format using MLA or APA and that is not quite it. Reimagining the Role of Technology in Education- Midterm

  For our Midterm activity reading, I decided to read the article Reimagining the Role of Technology in Education I chose this article because I believe technology has in some form has always been a key role player in education. I also chose this article because I am exploring different pedagogical frameworks, and I want to find where I can contribute to this work.   John Dewey's pedagogical theory is rooted in quality experience and education. From According to Dewey’s perspective, there was a difference in ordinary experience and “am” experience. The difference between the two lies in the quality and depth of engagement. Ordinary experience refers to the day-to-day routine we experience that might not involve much reflection or active engagement; or unintentional. SAMR Model

The SAMR Model "SAMR" (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition) is a framework that categorizes four levels of classroom technology integration. This model was designed to provide a cross disciplinary connection with teachers personalize learning and assist students in visualizing complex concepts. The SAMR Model is particularly effective in remote and blended learning environments, where integrated classroom technology enhances the teaching and learning experience for both educators and students. the article from  Edutopia  supports the power SAMR model integration. 

The Triple E Framework

The Triple E Framework was created in 2011 by Professor Liz Kolb, a Clinical Psychologist at the University of Michigan's School of Education. During her doctoral research on learning with technology, she observed that teachers were using tech tools to engage and entertain students, rather than focusing on learning objectives.  In this  article  from Outreach and Technical Assistance Network, it describes how the Triple E framework can that can help educators evaluate technology tool that meet their learning objective with a simple rubric of nine questions.
